Why Was Muammar Gaddafi A Bad Person? Facts About Libya
83Late Colonel Muammar Gaddafi
The Late Colonel Muammar Gaddafi ruled Libya for 42 years, and after the uprising of the Libyan people, he was killed as he was trying to escape Libya in a convoy when NATO bombed it and he was caught and then killed with bullet wounds to his head and body.
Colonel Muammar Gaddafi was labelled as a 'tyrant', a 'terrorist' and a 'dictator', but was he really a bad leader of Libya? Even though there was no democracy in Libya, the facts about Libya and the way it was ruled in the list below, doesn't do any justice to Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.
The list below may give you some insight into the good side of the the ruling of Libya by Muammar Gaddafi. If it is/was all true, then in the aspect of providing for his people, he doesn't really seem like a bad ruler because if he did provide for his people, then he must have had a good side to him.

The list above shows that, if he actually kept to the provision of the list, Muammar Gaddafi tried to provide for the people of Libya as much as he could. It was democracy that the Libyan people wanted, but had to fight to the death to get it.
'Democracy' is a weapon being used by the West gainst the Middle East to start protests and uprising by the people in those countries, because most of the Middle Eastern countries are still being ruled under the Islamic Sharia law. To break the mould and for the West to infiltrate the Middle East, 'democracy' is an easy weapon. Although we are in the 21st century, Islam is a religion which is forever, but when those people look at the way Western countries are ruled, the people of the Middle East want a democracy in their countries. Islam does not support a 'dictatoship regime', so the leaders of those countries should rule with democracy. There is no contradiction here, as the truth is that in the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him), there was democracy and Islam was perfect. Islam is and has been perfected by Allah, as it is written in the Quran, but it is human beings who make it difficult for themselves.

The post really surprised me. Whenever I watch television or read news, in most cases I read negative things about him. I think we should always look at the both sides of an issue. We do not know much about him or about libya because most of the time we are just concerned of ourselves. Thus, we do not have the right to judge. Whatever happened, I am sure the reasons are behind that of what we have heard and seen.
the Libya is in the worst turmoil then ever you know why because know they are leader less wanna know why its simple they dont have the mental capacity to lead since opportunity never arised in this crucial stage it a ka boom bomb it may go for the best or for the worst any way all the best for the libyan but i do know this one thing Pakistan has suffered a terrible loss
I don't understand why Libyans would want to be free of Gaddafi if the long list of the worthy things he did for Libya are true? He appears to have killed a lot of citizens but why would the majority want rid of him if he did so much for them? Would really like to hear a more balanced view of this man. He really should not have been killed on his day of capture - many questions could have been asked and hopefully answered by him.
Overall its a very confusing topic and I suppose it depends what sort of person you are as to what you think was right.
He apparently did all those nice things that you listed above, and lets face it, with him in charge in Libya organisations such as Al-Qaeda weren't really getting a look in...but was that enough to get him off the hook for all of his cruelty, oppression and even attacks against the West in the past?
At the end of the day the Libyan people wanted him out and it's their country and their right to choose how they live...but with reports of Sharia Law being implemented throughout Libya now and even Al-Qaeda flags being waved in certain places, it does look that for Western interests as a whole, him keeping his iron fisted rule would have been the safer option..
Wow! Now you making me confused, Brother! You really is!
@,@
What is really happening with the world?
I am Libyan and have lived in Libya all my life.....all the above statments are false, except for the electricity is for free.
40% of Libyans are unemployed....if a Libyan works for the government,he/she gets a salary that barly keeps them going for the month. We have NO infrastructue, education is BAD,healthcare much wrose.
PLAESE people, stop spreading false information about something you do not know about OK.
well actually i have heard the things told by hub author that to from Libyans them self so now u are making me confused any how whats done is done cause indeed Libya belong to Libyan people and now the only thing i want is to make sure that this thing don't get repeated again i.e democracy prevails
Nothing to be confused about amuqeet, you can ask me anything and I will reply with an answer.
I live in Libya.....I was here whene he attacked my city Benghazi...feel free to ask.
But Libyans were living in a very bad country ruled by a dictator that did not care for his people even though we are the richest country in Africa.
One thing and one thing only resulted in NATO's invasion of Libya. Money. All of the points about Ghadaffi are true, but the reason he got executed is the same reason that Saddam Husein got executed. Both men were "OUR" mad dogs...we supported them both. Both men made significant moves towards ending the petro-dollar, meaning that in order to buy oil from either country, the transactions would have to be done in a currency that we don't print. Saddam switched his to Euros, but Ghadaffi was working on the gold denar. Ghadaffi was also in the process of creating a United States of Africa (google all of this stuff!), which would have aligned most of north and central africa into one power block, with the gold denar as its currency. This is why he was executed.
agree i think that is the reason why he was killed the way he was killed
Can I just point out that NATO didn't kill him, so the conspiracy theories can end on that one, he was killed by the Libyans who hated him.
Thank you for understanding G Miah......and yes it's true...Gadhafi was killed becuz he was trying to make the gold dener....whatever they say..that is the truth.
BUT..on the other hand......I think we would rather live under a colonised country rather then under that dictator....you have no idea what it was like.....we were unable to do anything......sometimes people would ask about a friend who would just go missing without anyone knowing what happend to him.....everytime the people travel to Egypt or Tunisia we would have to bribe the soldiers who are patroling the borders as well as on the main road....The Mayor of my city (Benghazi) hung stydents on University grounds...one of the students didnt die so she caught on his legs an PULLED him down stranglling him....these are just stories I know about.
To me they can occupy, take, feed off our petrol as long as they let the people live proper lives.
Actually me too amazed with this case. Why some Libyan people celebrated his death.I saw it in TV.
I do not accept the way of western people. They didn't do anything against Israel about their huge unacceptable attacks to Palestine. I guess the reason is greediness for fuel resources.
On this topic
I'm Libby and I live in Libya Now I am 45 years old did not leave Libya
First I want to correct the next
1. Electricity is free for all Libyans.
This is not true and I am ready to do my filming electricity bills and science if the delayed payment of electricity cut off
-----------------------------------
2. Loans in Libya are free with 0% interest as banks are state owned.
Incorrect, there is no loan in Libya is free of interest
-------------------------
3. Homes are considered a human right in Libya - Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a home. Gaddafi's father has died while him, his wife and his mother were still living in a tent.
Incorrect, for example I have been married for 17 years I count five of the children and so far I do not have homes and live in two rooms with my mother
His policy was the cause of sedition and invited to break into homes and housing and cut off from the original Asahabha
With regard to him and he a liar, and his parents are originally Jews, a bastard of a Jewish woman
---------------------------------
4. All newly married people in Libya receive US $ 50,000 by the government to buy their first home to help the new family.
ohhhhhhhhhhhh i have been married for 17 years and started my furniture Old and in the same room with my father
This is not true at all and exciting to laugh and wonder
---------------------------
5. Medical treatment and education are free in Libya. Before Colonel Muammar Gaddafi ruled the country, only 25% of Libyans were literate. Today the figure is around 83%.
Education really free and unfortunately very poorly either treatment is definitely not promising and the price of private clinics and Mrtbaatna affect our daily
------------------------------
6. If Libyans eanted to take up farming as a career, the government funded people form the equipment to seeds, all for free.
Is true, everything priceless
------------------------------
7. The government subsidized 50% of the price of a new car if a Libyan wanted to buy their first car.
Watkin did not purchase or acquisition of any new car, to the high cost price of cars in Libya
-----------------------
8. Petrol price in Libya is around $ 0.14 per litre.
True cheap gasoline
---------------------
9. Libya has no debt externally and its reserves amounts to $ 150 billion - now globally frozen.
Did not see this wealth of Shea in Libya infrastructure in Libya have been totally destroyed and the money scattered outside Libya, such as Africa and other
-------------------------
10. The Libyan government would fund anyone who got a degree and they could not get employment, and they would receive income as if they were employed until they got a job.
Finally, the work of this step since one year ago
---------------------------------------
11. The sale of Libyan oil is credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens in proportion.
Incorrect and absolutely hilarious and wonder
--------------------------------------------

Not true at all
Sometimes we can not provide milk for our children is essential
----------------------------------
13. loaves of bread in Libya costs around $ 0.15.
Bread really cheap in Libya
---------------------------------
14. 25% of Libyans have a university degree.
Yes it is true
Islam is perfect? Democratic? Read it again.
a) 'Prophet' Muhammad is the only 'Prophet' who managed three wars in his life. Killed everybody to obtain their golds. Not to bring peace.
b) Islam has got nothing to do with human rights. The Quaran/Sharia law accepts FOUR woman's witness over ONE man. Is this equality? Democracy? Perhaps, Allah is a man, too, if exists.
c) Dignity? 'Prophet' Muhammad is the only guy who married to a girl 6 years old when he was 43. How shameful is that?
And do not twist the words. Libyan situation and Islam are different things. Do your homework before post.
to mr. greg smith even u,u have to revise ur data before posting,do u have any written document saying that [pbuh]married a girl of such ege'stupid,or u think that every one shal follow that false bible of the witches.rest in peace gaddaf, and in uganda w shall always remeber u,and to greg smith u and other westerners, ure work is to support homsexual
I agree welfare in Libya, but sometimes, people expect more and that is freedom of speech, liberal governance administration. In USSR and China they tried to keep people in communes or self reliant human colonies but later it failed. So people can not be kept in Barracks, they always want free breathing and that is freedom.
The government sponsored killings or atrocities make a way for uprising or plots against government or ruler.even though he/she claims Messiah of the community
Hello, i'd like to leave a comment to that article above.
Okay so wherever u got these information from, i am sorry but i have to say, you gotta also be sure that they did happen or not.
because none of these things that '' gaddafi '' said, was actually done. and actually instead of doing these things, he promised us and promised the world he'd do in libya, he killed, rapped, stole and murdered Libyans for no actual reason. he took away homes instead of giving them, his son '' Seif Al Aslam'' Rapped newly married girls just they were attractive to him. he stole money and never gave the Libyan citizen his right, instead of helping and giving out money. and yes maybe education is for free, but can give a real number of well educated Libyans IN LIBYA? not alot.
he panned English for a while, and they he started letting us learn English is grade 7 or 8.
we had to study his Green Book, which is the country's stupid Constitution.
if i could write up here all the bad things he did for the Libyans for 24 years, i swear i'd take forever.
so i just want people to know how angry we are, and how bad he was and that he does not deserve anyone's pity.
and i guarantee that Allah, allowed and let us kill him that way, only because he deserved that.
'' ?????? ?? ??? ?????''
Thank you :)

These are curious and interesting things that I never knew before. But what about the flight that blew up over Lockerbie in Scotland, and the American and Scottish people who died because of it? Did they deserve this?
What about the sale of weapons to the IRA? Or the man who was attacking his own people. There are other things there too, I am sure.
I hate war and violence. No country leader should attack his own people. I know there is lots I probably don't know about Libya. And the future is uncertain for the people of Libya who are living there now...I would like them to have the right to choose their own leaders and their own future. Is that wrong? So many people can already have that right. I would like it for people in Libya to not have to live in fear or ever be afraid. Fear can be the worse weapon of all some times...
