Sony Playstation PSP Phone - What's All The Fuss About?

Sony will have done it again if they can integrate a Sony Playstation Portable with a Sony Ericsson phone.The entertainment giants that is Sony, have not yet officially announced the release or even the existence of a Sony Playstation Phone. It is rumoured to be just around the corner! So keep your eyes peeled!

Latest mobile phone and video games fans are anticipating the release or more news of the PSP phone with people going crazy nearly all over the world spotting the gadget in weird unexpected places! It's like spotting a UFO!

People have spotted them in China, others in Greece and some in Germany! They even been seen on video in parking lots, hotels and in bedrooms hiding behind curtains!

On a more serious note, i am looking forward to the release of the Playstation Phone which most probably will look like the current PSP Go video gaming console, i hope anyway.

There are many pictures of Sony Playstation Phone on the internet jammed packed with information based on rumour or it could all be true! We just have to wait and see. Sony usually always denied the existence of the Playstation 3 in the past while they were working on it, with leaked images on the internet.

Could they actually be working on a Playstation Phone where we will be able to play Playstation games whenever we want? Phone our friends and family whenever we want with voice and video call? Surf the internet whenever we want? Definitely maybe! It's just a matter of time before people go crazy and start parking their sleeping bags outside mobile phone shops, Sony shops and McDonalds!

The big question is, will the rumoured PSP Phone work as a Games console and a phone at the same time? and what can we expect from a Sony Playstation Portable Phone?

The Sony PSP Phone will probably be called 'Sony Ericsson Z1', and has been spotted on a spy video in Greece! The phone looks like a PSP Go so it will most definitely be touch screen. As we can see from the image above, the PSP phone will slide out to reveal the gaming keypads. The image above though is apparently a leakes image, and the most obvious thing is that the Sony Playstation logo is nowhere to be seen!

The screen is likely to be 4'' wide with HD quality resolution, but this is obviously rumour at the moment.

Built by Sony Ericsson phone manufacturers, the PSP Phone comes packing Android, a multi-touch slide in and out gamepad, traditional PSP buttons and what is rumoured to be a front-facing camera. The camera is used for video call and will also take pictures, but the camera pixels will probably be low, maybe 2 mega pixels.

On the back of the PSP Phone will be a high quality camera which is likely to be minimum 5 mega pixels, with video recording facilities.

So what are specs likely to be in the new PSP/Phone hybrid from Sony?

The PSP Phone OS will be Android version 3.0, 5 mega pixel rear camera and 2 mega pixel front video call camera.

PlayStation phone specifications include a 1GHz Qualcomm CPU, 512MB of RAM and a 3.7" or 4.1" display with WVGA resolution or better.

Rather than a Sony adding a QWERTY keyboard, the PSP Phone slider reveals the familiar D-pad and buttons from the PSP Go together with a wide touch pad in the middle that supports multi-touch gestures. Unusually for a Sony device it's expandable via MicroSD cards rather than Sony's own Memory Sticks.

So when are we likely to be queueing up outside the Sony Shop to buy one???

It's looking very likely that the PSP Phone might make an appearance at Mobile World Congress in February 2011. This has been plastered all over the internet, so this rumour is not to be ignored! The games will be graphically in the range of PSX or PSP games, meaning true 3D gaming is heading to Android, so mobile gamers, keep your pumping your thumbs!
